Cheri (pronounce ShhREE) joined Smoky Hill Vineyards
and Winery in 2007 as a part-time member of the tasting room
staff. Born and raised in the midwest, she has lived in Omaha,
Nebraska most of her life. As the oldest of seven siblings,
Cheri obviously learned about management from the bottom up...and
along the way, learned about the importance of family, saying
"Family is everything to me!" It's that love and appreciation
of family that attracted her to work in a family owned and operated
business like Smoky Hill.
Cheri's previous work experience included working for several years with a large insurance company in Omaha. With her husband's FedEx job transfer to Joplin, Missouri, Cheri worked at the famous Candy House, loving the hustle and bustle of retail sales.....sweet! Yet another FedEx transfer transplanted Cheri and her husband to Salina, where upon a visit with her mother-in-law, she discovered Smoky Hill. Cheri says she immediately fell in love with the unique atmosphere at Smoky Hill, and inquired about a job. The rest, as they say, is history! This mother of two has two grandchildren, and makes frequent visits to Nebraska to visit family. Admittedly, she has remained a Nebraska football fan (omigosh!!), but redeemed herself to Norm and Jen by pledging a love for Pasta Vino, which softened the Big Red blow a bit! "I enjoy all Smoky Hill wines, and have always had an interest in wine. Now, I am looking forward to learning even more from Norm and Jen. It is great to work for a family-owned business that shares the same values I do. I look forward to meeting and serving each of you!" |
