Blessing Feast Menu
The recipes for the Blessing Feast are taken from an old church cookbook by the Kansas city Philoptichos Society.  Recipes from this cookbook are used in countless church festivals.  The meal is prepared and served by parish members, under the direction of two Greek-heritage Salinans, John Stravopoulos and Bill Fekas.  John and Bill collaborate, perhaps like Rogers and Hammerstein, to bring this year's menu to the Blessing Feast.

 Menu

Kefteda served on a bed of Manestra and
Skewered, grilled vegetables with Greek marinata sauce
Dolmades with lemon sauce
Tiropita, spanokkopita, feta cheese & pita bread
Baklava

Bill Fekas is an experienced chef who often travels to Greece; John just loves to eat his family's traditional Greek cooking.  John visualizes the menu, but cannot cook; Bill implements and executes the vision for the Blessing Feast setting. Great effort (and perhaps an argument or two!) insure that the fare is a very Mediterranean experience for all. John comments:  "I consulted with the best Greek cook I know in  Greece to keep very traditional cooking with all of the recipes."

Smoky Hill Wine, by the glass or by the bottle, will be available for sale in the winery tasting room, and is not included with the menu price. Water and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available from the church.
