All Saints
Orthodox Christian Church was founded in 1994 by a group of faithful
Christians who wished to share the life of the One, Holy, Catholic
and Apostolic Church spoken of in the Nicene Creed. The church
is a member of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of
North America, and locally, the Diocese of Wichita and Mid America
with Bishop Basil Essy presiding from St. George Orthodox Christian
Cathedral in Wichita.
The small parish is a combination of both cradle-born
Orthodox and converts from different religious and ethnic heritages.
The church building is the former chapel of the Schilling Air Force
Base, located north of Tony’s Pizza factory at 2818 Scanlan Ave.
Salina, Kansas 67401. The former base chapel has been transformed
into a beautiful Orthodox Temple with the skills of Iconographers
Erin Mary Kimmett, Thekla Hatfield, and Jan Isham, as well as the
woodworking and artistic efforts of Fr. Thomas Neustrom and Fr. Bill
Wells. All Saints is the organizer of the annual Vineyard Blessing
and Dinner, held each August, as well as the annual “Big Fat Greek”
dinner, served at the church building each spring.
